How to petition for transfer credit:

After beginning your studies at Penn, consult with your advisor to determine whether any previously completed graduate-level courses are eligible for transfer credit.

  1. Complete the Graduate Transfer of Credit Petition Form.
  2. Obtain the required signatures from your advisor and the graduate group chair.
  3. For courses being transferred as direct equivalents to Penn courses, obtain the signature of the Penn instructor of the equivalent course.
  4. Combine the completed petition form and an official graduate transcript from the institution where the courses were taken into a single PDF.
  5. Submit the PDF through the BE Graduate Transfer Request Form.
