Admission to Bioengineering is coordinated through the University of Pennsylvania’s central undergraduate admissions office. You can start becoming a citizen of the world as a freshman by helping to bring clean water to communities in Latin America, by traveling to Hong Kong and China with Penn’s Global Biomedical Research Program, or by working in science outreach programs with Philadelphia-area middle and high school students.
We are an Ivy League engineering school that offers two undergraduate bioengineering degree options: a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Bioengineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Biomedical Science. This choice in degree program provides students with the flexibility needed to tailor their education to their personal goals.
You can work in a world-famous biomedical research lab, design a new medical device, build a startup company, become fluent in Chinese, choose premedical courses, pursue a dual major in a wide range of disciplines, or obtain a minor in nanotechnology or engineering entrepreneurship.
